We’ll be the first to admit that we didn’t set out to offer a business-coaching service, but as we’ve helped small business take bigger steps into their industries, we found ourselves being asked help with day-to-day things, that quickly became coaching sessions.
Penny comes from a strong background of actual hands-on business management, and has experience in all aspects of both owning a small retail and service business, and managing businesses for other people. Penny’s marketing knowledge, graphic design skills, and down-to-earth approach to teaching, has developed a group of regular coach-ees who are enjoying the encouragement and development that coaching brings them.
Can Small Business Coaching Help You?
You don’t have to be a big business to have a business coach. Running a small business can be a lonely thing with no-one to talk out ideas or express doubts or concerns. With Penny as a business coach, you’ll have your own business side-kick to give you encouragement, support, education and a fresh perspective. Having a business coach is also an excellent way to stay on track when the day-to-day of working on your business distracts you from your goals. A regular coaching session pulls you out of the 4 walls of your business, and gives you a chance to take a beat, and regroup.
Business coaching with WEB Better coaching has 4 primary standards of service for helping small business owners…
Affordable
There’s no promotional photos of Penny leaning against a BMW with an expensive watch and a power-suit, and we aren’t making big promises that you’ll make a million dollars and retire early. Because our goal is to help small businesses feel good about their business, we keep our pricing set in a way that is affordable.
Honest and Fair
Sometimes, you really won’t like what we have to say, but we’ll still say it, but in a way that is kind and respectful. You’ll know that you aren’t paying Penny to simply nod along and agree with you, instead, as your coach, you’ll get a discussion that gives feedback and advice that you know you can trust. And because it is always honest, you can also trust that the positive feedback we give is honest too.
Stays Invested
Penny won’t just connect with you during your coaching session – she’ll continually monitor your business, stay informed about your industry, and always take the time to understand not just you, but all the aspects around you that contribute to your management of your business. By doing this, a coaching session with Penny is a place where you can bounce ideas, express concerns, or just rant about something that is driving you crazy.
Mindful of Your Resources
The advantage of having Penny’s experience in running a business, is that we understand things need to be done where there just aren’t the resources (financial, time or team) to get them done. Part of her coaching is to offer you advice as to how to make the resources you have work, to recommend new resources based on your budget, and help with strategies to make the most of the tools and skills that you already have.
Meet Penny
Penny isn’t shy about admitting that she’s 50. Being 50 brings over 30 years of experience in retail, visual merchandising, management, marketing, web design, graphic design, and…coaching. She’s a positive and kind supporter of her clients, makes herself available for help as it’s needed, and enjoys a good discussion about anything. She’s comfortable in all sorts of situations, is a confident public speaker, swears occasionally, and has a sense of humour that is determined to always see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Penny lives in Morayfield, and as well as owning this happy little web design business, she also owns a small service and retail based business with her brother, also in Morayfield.

Frequently Asked Questions
Whose Ideas are Coaching Ideas?
In coaching, all ideas discussed are yours to freely use, either now or later. We even encourage clients to audio record sessions on their phone for later reference.
How Long Will It Take and When Can You Do It?
Coaching sessions are 1 hour long. Because we know you’ve got a lot to do during the day, we offer flexibility of availability, and we can also do virtual when needed (although there is something to be said about face-to-face).
Where Is Coaching Done?
We recommend coaching away from your business location – this helps with perspective, allows for candid, un-overheard discussion, and gives a break from business distractions. Most clients like their local coffee shop, and we’ll even shout you a coffee.
What Can You Help With?
All those things that you feel are just escaping your control – goal setting, time management, team management, success tracking, point of sale management, marketing, social media, brand improvement, brand refresh, or even just having someone to talk out a decision with.
Am I Locked Into a Plan
No, your business and your circumstances can change quickly so you can cancel at any time. All that we ask is that you pay for your next coaching session at the end of your current one so that you are one session in advance. In order to keep you dedicated to your coaching, if you cancel a meeting and we can’t find a time to reschedule, unfortunately there’s no refund for that meetings fee.
How Do I Know if It’s Right for me?
We want to make sure that you feel comfortable with Penny as your business coach. If you are thinking of coaching, we’ll book a meeting with Penny for FREE and if you like it, you can book and pay for your next one (either there or take some time and get back to us).
